Personal Perspectives - Food Security and Poverty

Personal Perspectives

1. Who is affected?
People who live in areas with less resources and people who live in poverty-stricken areas are affected by food security and hunger.

2. How many are affected?
There might be about 3 billion people who have food insecurity.

3. Is this a major problem?
This is a very big problem because many people can die, and without the right amounts of vitamins and minerals needed in the body, people can get prone to a lot of diseases.  People also just to get their next meal can try all sorts of ways to earn money like selling drugs or actually becoming educated. It can go either way, but most people tend to start doing the wrong things and it ends up going against what society wants.

4. What are some solutions?
Some solutions are to fly food into places where people do not have much of it. People should also start been given small jobs so they can actually earn money and afford food themselves and make something out of their lives.  Educating people on what they should eat is also something that is very important.

The CNN Hero - Mr. Krishnan

1. What is the purpose of the video?
The purpose of the video was to give people an idea about how anyone can help and actually make a difference. It shows that there is a need and that if we cannot do it ourselves we can show it through donations.

2. What are the claims being made?
Many people are not cared for, and all these people given the right nutrition and love can prosper in life with the help of people.

3. Do you agree/ disagree with contention of the video? Why?
I agree with the argument that helping people with love and nutrition can help people to mentally recuperate.

4. Is this video factual or telling a story? In what way?
This video is factual but is also supposed to stir emotions. It makes you feel sympathy for the people who are going through a lot.
